He was blessed with 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. M.C. was a quiet man with much wisdom. He was a self taught musician and gifted in his ability to play the guitar. He passed that love and gift down to his children and grandchildren. M.C. was a man of hard work, principles, perseverance and God’s word. He found much fulfillment working in his yard planting beautiful flowers. He was always willing to help someone in need or feed extra mouths at the table with his famous fried chicken. He finished out each of his days with reading of God’s word. He was loved, respected, and admired by his children. There will be an empty part within each of their hearts, along with many fond memories. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, November 16 at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd, Jarratt, Virginia with interment to follow at Forest Hills Baptist Church Cemetery. The family requests that all visitation be at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 12:30.
