Beginning this summer, the Saul Mirowitz Community Jewish School will see a shift in leadership as two experienced educators, Val Toskin and Shannon Rohlman, step into significant new roles within the administration.

These appointments aim to strengthen the school’s academic direction and donor relations as part of its ongoing commitment to excellence in Jewish education.

Val Toskin Named Assistant Head of School for Learning and Jewish Life

Val Toskin has been appointed as the Assistant Head of School for Learning and Jewish Life. In her new capacity, Toskin will expand upon her existing responsibilities in t’fillah leadership while also guiding curriculum design, spearheading professional development, and supporting the school’s strategic academic planning.

Her new role reflects a commitment to enriching the educational experience by integrating Jewish values and traditions into everyday learning. Previously, Toskin held the role of Interim Director of Jewish Life and Learning, where she played a critical role in shaping the school’s religious and educational environment.

Shannon Rohlman Appointed as Development Manager

Meanwhile, Shannon Rohlman has been selected for the newly established position of Development Manager. In this capacity, Rohlman will lead efforts to cultivate relationships with donors, enhance community engagement, and ensure the effective stewardship of philanthropic contributions.

Her responsibilities will be centered on strengthening connections with current and prospective donors, planning fundraising initiatives, and contributing to the long-term sustainability of the school. Rohlman previously served as the Director of Instruction, a role that helped her develop a deep understanding of the school’s culture and community.
