According to authorities, a young woman from Virginia, aged 23, who was wanted in connection with the deaths of her three roommates, all in their 60s or 70s, has been captured in upstate New York. The pursuit to capture her involved speeds of up to 100 mph at times.
According to the office, Alyssa Jane Venable, the roommate of the victims, was identified as the suspect by the investigators.
The sheriff’s office reported that the New York State Police troopers in Steuben County came across a gray 2009 Honda Civic on Thursday evening that resembled the vehicle that Venable was known to operate. The troopers attempted to stop the car, but the driver declined to comply. Consequently, a pursuit was initiated, and the speeds escalated to 100 mph.
After being apprehended, Venable was promptly taken into custody without any complications. As a precautionary measure, he was then escorted to a nearby hospital.
The victims’ living arrangements with Venable remain unclear as an office spokesperson did not promptly respond to a request for more details about her and her relationship with them.
According to court records, Venable faced a charge of misdemeanor assault and battery in May. The public defender’s office in Fredericksburg represented her in the case, but they have not yet responded to a comment request.
