The KDWP Fisheries Division has set its sights on enhancing fishing opportunities for anglers statewide this year through various stocking initiatives. The fingerlings, sourced from hatcheries like the Meade State Fish Hatchery and bass ponds, are dedicated to rearing largemouth bass. These stocking efforts, coupled with habitat enhancement projects, and the yearly monitoring of all black bass species across Kansas, are part of a larger initiative to make fishing for this species more enticing.
