According to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Carteret Police Chief Dennis McFadden, two women were discovered on Roosevelt Avenue at approximately 9 a.m. with gunshot wounds. They were immediately transported to nearby hospitals via airlift.
Ciccone and McFadden reported that, at 2:30 p.m., one victim had passed away while the other remains in critical condition.
At 4:20 p.m., according to the prosecutor, the suspect was apprehended, and there is no longer any danger to the community.
