A 26-year-old Wichita man lost his life after being shot on Sunday afternoon in the west Wichita area, according to the Wichita Police Department.
Although authorities confirmed the victim’s age and city of residence, his name has not yet been made public.
Police responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 2:26 p.m., locating the scene in the 2700 block of West 2nd Street.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the man lying on the ground, suffering from a gunshot wound, said police spokesperson Kristopher Gupilan.
Victim Pronounced Dead at Hospital
Emergency services quickly transported the victim to a nearby hospital. Despite efforts to save him, the young man succumbed to his injuries, Gupilan confirmed.
