Lakers Stage Comeback vs. Grizzlies While Suns Steal Oklahoma City’s Thunder

The Los Angeles Lakers mounted another strong comeback to defeat the Memphis Grizzlies 120–114, securing back-to-back victories over the same opponent in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Luka Dončić led the charge with a dominant all-around performance, pouring in 36 points, while narrowly missing a triple-double with nine rebounds and eight assists. Veteran superstar LeBron James complemented him with 26 points and 10 assists, guiding Los Angeles down the stretch.

Supporting contributions proved crucial, as Jake LaRavia added 26 points and Deandre Ayton chipped in 15 points. The win followed Friday’s 128–121 victory, helping the Lakers rebound after dropping four of their previous five games.

For Memphis, Jaylen Wells scored 23 points, while rookie Cedric Coward contributed 16 points and nine rebounds—all in the first half—before leaving the game with an ankle injury.

Additional scoring came from Jaren Jackson Jr. (14 points) and Jock Landale (13 points, 10 rebounds). Memphis suffered its fourth straight loss, with star guard Ja Morant sidelined by a calf injury for the 15th time in 21 games.

Devin Booker’s Buzzer-Beater Lifts Suns Over Thunder

The Phoenix Suns erased an 18-point early deficit and stunned the defending champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder, with a 108–105 road victory.

The decisive moment came when Devin Booker drained a game-winning three-pointer at the final buzzer. Booker finished with 24 points and nine assists, showcasing leadership throughout the comeback.

Dillon Brooks added 22 points, including a critical three-pointer over fellow Canadian and reigning MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander with 36 seconds remaining, giving Phoenix a 105–101 lead.

Oklahoma City responded to tie the game with 8.2 seconds left, but Booker’s final shot sealed the outcome. Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder with 25 points, while Jalen Williams contributed 23. Despite the loss snapping their four-game winning streak, the Thunder still boast the league’s best record at 30–6.

Pistons Strengthen East Lead With Gritty Win Over Cavaliers

In the Eastern Conference, the Detroit Pistons continued their impressive run by edging the Cleveland Cavaliers 114–110, improving to 26–9 and extending their conference lead.

Star guard Cade Cunningham delivered 27 points, along with six rebounds, seven assists, two steals, and one block. Off the bench, Daniss Jenkins erupted for 25 points, highlighted by 21 points in a flawless second quarter, where he hit all seven shots, including six three-pointers.

Detroit overcame the absence of key players Tobias Harris, Jalen Duren, and Caris LeVert.

Cleveland mounted a late comeback behind Donovan Mitchell, who scored 30 points. The Cavaliers trimmed a 13-point deficit to two in the final minutes, but Jenkins calmly sank two free throws to close it out.

Cleveland slipped to eighth place after being overtaken by the Miami Heat, who defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 125–106.

Pacers’ Losing Streak Reaches 12 as Magic Hold Firm

The Indiana Pacers matched a franchise low with their 12th consecutive loss, falling 135–127 to the Orlando Magic.

Indiana continues to struggle after last season’s Finals appearance, particularly following Tyrese Haliburton’s torn Achilles injury. Pascal Siakam led all scorers with 34 points, but Orlando seized momentum with a 17–0 run in the second quarter.

The Magic were paced by Desmond Bane, who scored 31 points, and they withstood a late Pacers push to secure the win.

Nets Capitalize on Jokic’s Absence Against Nuggets

The Brooklyn Nets took advantage of the absence of three-time MVP Nikola Jokić to defeat the Denver Nuggets 127–115.

Denver welcomed back Christian Braun and Aaron Gordon, but still struggled without Jokic. Jamal Murray led the Nuggets with 27 points and a career-high 16 assists, while Gordon scored 20 points in 21 minutes.

The difference-maker was former Nugget Michael Porter Jr., who tallied 27 points and 11 rebounds in his first game against Denver since being traded in July.

Sunday’s NBA action delivered dramatic finishes and shifting momentum across the league.

The Lakers rediscovered form, the Suns toppled the league’s top team at the buzzer, Detroit reinforced its Eastern Conference dominance, and ongoing injuries continued to reshape contenders like Memphis, Indiana, and Denver.

As the season progresses, depth, health, and clutch performances are proving just as important as star power.
