The crash occurred in an area near Lake Shawnee, a well-known location in east Topeka. The intersection of Southeast 29th Street and Southeast Croco Road can see steady traffic, especially during evening hours when many drivers are returning home or traveling through the area.

First responders arrived at the scene to assess the vehicles, check for injuries and manage traffic around the crash site. Photos from the scene showed emergency activity in the area as crews worked to secure the roadway.

Minor Injuries Reported

Law enforcement officers at the scene told a local reporter that minor injuries were being reported in connection with the crash.

It was not immediately clear how many people were injured or whether anyone was transported to a hospital. Authorities also did not release the names or ages of the people involved.

Because the injuries were described as minor, the crash did not initially appear to involve life-threatening harm. However, rollover crashes can be serious, and responders typically evaluate everyone involved to make sure there are no hidden injuries.

Investigation Still Developing

Officials have not yet released a full crash report. Investigators are expected to review several factors, including the direction each vehicle was traveling, whether speed played a role, road conditions at the time, and whether any driver failed to yield or obey traffic signals.

No citations or arrests were immediately announced.

The Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office has been contacted for additional information, and more details may be released as the investigation continues.

Drivers Asked To Use Caution

Crashes involving multiple vehicles can create delays and hazards for other motorists, especially when emergency vehicles are working at the scene. Drivers passing through the area were urged to slow down, watch for first responders and use caution near the intersection.

Even after vehicles are removed, debris and cleanup activity can briefly affect traffic flow.

Authorities have not said how long the roadway was blocked or whether traffic had to be redirected following the crash.
