Argument Outside Strip Mall Turns Deadly In Afternoon Shooting

A man died Friday afternoon after a shooting outside a strip mall in Kansas City, Missouri, according to police.

Officers with the Kansas City Police Department were called just before 12:45 p.m. to the area of 87th Street and Blue Ridge Boulevard after receiving a report of gunfire. When officers arrived, they found a man in the parking lot suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Police said several people at the scene tried to help the victim before emergency crews arrived. The man was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Argument Reportedly Led To Gunfire

Investigators said early evidence suggests the shooting began after an argument outside a business in the strip mall.

Police said multiple people were involved in the dispute before it escalated into gunfire. The victim was struck during the incident, though authorities have not released details about what caused the argument or whether the victim was specifically targeted.

The man’s name has not yet been released, pending notification of family members.

Witnesses Tried To Help Victim
