Pedestrian In Critical Condition After Northland Crash Investigation Underway

A serious incident occurred on Saturday evening in Kansas City’s Northland area, resulting in a pedestrian being hospitalized in critical condition.

The Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.​

At approximately 8:20 p.m. on Saturday, emergency services were dispatched to a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on NE MO 210 Highway, just east of N. Eldon Ave.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the driver was traveling eastbound on MO 210 Highway and had a green traffic signal at the intersection.​

The pedestrian, whose identity has not been released, was crossing the street southbound in front of the vehicle when the collision occurred.

The impact left the pedestrian with life-threatening injuries, and they were promptly transported to a local hospital, where they remain in critical condition.​

Investigation Status

KCPD’s Traffic Investigation Unit is leading the inquiry into the incident. At this stage, no charges have been filed against the driver, as preliminary findings suggest they were not at fault.
