Iran War Live: Tehran Criticizes U.S. Ahead of Major Funeral for Ali Khamenei

Iran has issued fresh warnings to regional countries following the U.S.-Israel war on Iran, with officials accusing Washington of showing disregard for real peace and security in West Asia. At the same time, Tehran is preparing for massive funeral ceremonies for former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, while tensions continue around the Strait of Hormuz and southern Lebanon.

Iran Accuses U.S. of Undermining Regional Peace

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said the United States has repeatedly shown what he described as complete contempt for genuine peace and security in West Asia.

Baghaei warned countries in the region to draw “clear lessons” from the U.S.-Israel war on Iran. His comments reflect Tehran’s broader message that regional governments should reconsider their approach to Washington and its role in Middle East security.

Millions Expected in Tehran for Khamenei Funeral

More than 20 million people are expected to gather in Tehran for the funeral of former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, who was killed at the beginning of the U.S.-Israel war on Iran.

The large turnout is expected to make the funeral one of the most significant public gatherings in Iran’s recent history.

Funeral Ceremonies to End in Mashhad

Ceremonies and funeral processions for Khamenei are scheduled to begin on Saturday in Tehran.

The mourning events will continue until July 9, when the former supreme leader will be buried in his hometown of Mashhad.

The multi-day funeral processions are expected to draw major attention inside Iran and across the region.

Iran Issues Warning Over Strait of Hormuz Navigation

Iran’s state broadcaster aired a statement from the country’s military command regarding vessels travelling through the Strait of Hormuz.

The statement said ships moving through the strategic waterway must follow routes assigned by the Iranian armed forces. It also warned that vessels failing to comply could face a “forceful response.”

The warning highlights Iran’s continued focus on controlling movement through one of the world’s most important maritime routes.

Israeli Raids Reported in Southern Lebanon

Lebanon’s National News Agency reported that Israeli jets launched raids in southern Lebanon’s Bint Jbeil district.

The report also said Israeli forces targeted a hospital in the town of Nabatieh al-Fawa.

These developments suggest that violence in southern Lebanon remains active despite ongoing regional diplomatic efforts and security warnings.
