Background on the Suspect: Perez Ricardo
This is not Ricardo’s first encounter with the law. In January 2025, he pleaded no contest to a criminal damage to property charge linked to an August 2024 incident where he was initially accused of attempted aggravated residential burglary and property damage. He received a sentence of time served in that case.
In addition, Ricardo had two other battery cases from 2023, in which he also entered no contest pleas.
The arrest of Alexei Perez Ricardo marks a significant development in the Emporia homicide investigation, though many details remain under review.
Authorities continue to work diligently to uncover the facts while encouraging the community’s cooperation. Residents are reminded that any information, no matter how small, could prove crucial in the pursuit of justice.
