From Tragedy To Triumph- New Mexican Restaurant Opens At Site of KC Chef Shaun Brady’s Murder

In a poignant turn of events, the former site of Kansas City’s beloved Irish pub, Brady & Fox, where owner Shaun Brady was tragically killed in August 2024, is set to welcome a new establishment.

Muy Caliente Grill & Cantina, a family-owned Mexican restaurant, aims to honor Brady’s legacy while bringing vibrant flavors to the Brookside neighborhood.

The Tragic Incident

On August 28, 2024, Shaun Brady, a 44-year-old Irish chef and co-owner of Brady & Fox, was fatally shot outside his restaurant at 751 E. 63rd St. while taking out the trash. Brady confronted two teenagers attempting to break into a vehicle, leading to a fatal altercation.

The suspects, aged 15 and 17, were arrested shortly after the incident. The 17-year-old was later released, while the 15-year-old remains in custody.
