The City of Emporia is set to begin milling operations on Monday, July 7, as part of the extensive 2025 Street Rehabilitation Project.
This initiative focuses on enhancing transportation infrastructure through a combination of street resurfacing, curb and gutter repairs, and the installation of ADA-compliant sidewalk ramps.
According to an official press release from the City, the comprehensive street work began earlier this year, with concrete repairs starting the week of May 5, 2025. The project marks another step in the city’s ongoing effort to improve road quality and accessibility throughout Emporia.
Targeted Street Segments for 2025
The following street sections have been designated for upgrades in this year’s phase of the project:

Project Timeline and Expectations
The City notes that the 2025 street rehabilitation efforts are expected to continue through the summer and extend into the fall season.
By combining concrete and asphalt work, the project aims to create safer and smoother roadways for motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians alike.
Residents in affected areas are advised to stay informed about temporary traffic changes and lane closures as work progresses throughout the scheduled timeline.
With the launch of milling operations, the City of Emporia’s 2025 Street Rehabilitation Project moves into its next critical phase.
The combined focus on resurfacing, accessibility, and infrastructure upgrades highlights the city’s commitment to long-term urban development and public safety.
The project will remain active throughout summer and fall 2025, improving key roadways across Emporia.
