First Baptist Church Walters is organizing a “Back to School Bash” aimed at helping students in Walters and nearby communities gear up for the new school year. The event will offer free school supplies and clothing to students in need.
Additional Resources for Families
Attendees will also have the chance to review their child’s immunization records and obtain information about WIC services. The goal is to ensure students start the school year with everything they need—both academically and health-wise.
Easing the Burden for Local Families
Cody Pennington, the church’s Youth Pastor, emphasized the importance of this effort. “We live in one of the most impoverished counties in Oklahoma, but the community is also incredibly generous,” he said. “This initiative helps reduce the financial stress of back-to-school preparation. As a church, we saw this as an opportunity to serve our neighbors and meet a real need.”
