Recapping a Breakthrough Season
Last year was a turning point for Emporia State. The Hornets finished with a 17-10 overall record and a 9-7 mark in MIAA play, advancing to the quarterfinals of the conference tournament.
It was the program’s first winning season since 2014 and their highest win total since 2013. Along the way, standout outside hitter Weronika Wrzesinska earned first-team All-MIAA honors, marking the program’s first such recognition in over a decade.
That successful campaign laid the foundation for an even bigger leap in 2025.
Training Camp Sets the Tone
As the new season approaches, training camp intensity has been sky-high. Players returned a week early for open gym sessions, a move that boosted team chemistry and set high standards right from day one.
Junior setter Brailee Bogle emphasized that the team’s ceiling is higher than ever:
“Everything is going well. The sky’s the limit for us. I want us to push deeper into the MIAA tournament and crack the top 25 this year.”
With two more exhibition tournaments before the season opener, the Hornets are working to fine-tune their offense, defense, and rotations.
Key Players to Watch
The Hornets face the challenge of replacing Wrzesinska’s production, but several athletes are stepping up:

Senior hitter Ossola put it simply:
“If you stay aggressive and use the right techniques, you’re going to do great.”

Team Chemistry & Newcomers
