Bar K Announces Temporary Closure Due to Construction at Berkley Riverfront

Bar K, the popular dog park and bar located at Berkley Riverfront, has announced a temporary closure starting Monday, July 7, through Friday, July 11 at 3 p.m..

The decision comes as a result of restricted access and parking caused by major construction projects in the surrounding area.

Access Limitations Prompt Short-Term Shutdown

With multiple large-scale construction efforts underway near the Berkley Riverfront, Bar K is experiencing challenges that affect both its operations and guest accessibility.

The venue cited limited parking and reduced entry routes as primary reasons for the brief shutdown.

Business Impact and Community Growth

In a public statement shared via Facebook, Bar K acknowledged the growing pains of being located in a rapidly developing part of Kansas City:

“We are proud to be part of the exciting growth at Berkley Riverfront and appreciate our role in helping spark this development,” the statement read.

“However, we recognize that these changes have unfortunately diminished our guests’ experience and, in turn, affected the sustainability of our operations.”

Seeking Long-Term Solutions

Bar K also confirmed that it is actively collaborating with Port KC and the City of Kansas City to develop long-term strategies that will support continued growth while minimizing disruption to businesses and visitors.

As construction activity intensifies in the Berkley Riverfront area, Bar K is taking proactive steps to navigate the challenges of urban development.

The temporary closure from July 7 to July 11 is aimed at ensuring a better experience for its patrons once accessibility improves.

The business remains committed to working with city officials and developers to find sustainable solutions moving forward.
