The Emporia Pride Celebration returns this weekend, bringing an evening full of entertainment, inclusivity, and community support—all packed into a revised single-day format.
In past years, Emporia’s Pride festivities stretched across two days, but this year’s celebration will take place entirely on Saturday, June 22, featuring a parade, live performances, community booths, and a drag show, all in downtown Emporia.
Updated Layout and Timing for 2025
Organizer Mallory Bishop says the decision to condense the celebration into one evening aims to bring more energy and engagement to a centralized location, making it easier for families, performers, and community members to participate.
“We wanted to focus all the excitement into one vibrant, unforgettable night,” Bishop explained. “It’s a celebration of love, resilience, and community spirit.”
Event Schedule and Highlights
4:00 PM – Pride Parade
- The celebration kicks off with a colorful Pride Parade starting at Emporia State University’s Kellogg Circle.
- Participants will march toward the heart of downtown, showcasing Emporia’s growing LGBTQ+ pride and support.
Pride Live at Ninth & Commercial
Immediately following the parade, festivities move to the green space at Ninth and Commercial, where Pride Live will unfold.
Features include:
- Live performances by three artists
- A sneak peek of Spring Awakening: The Musical by Emporia State Summer Theater
- Local food trucks, business vendors, and community resource booths
- Inspirational speeches from Parade Marshals Michael Torres and Nyk Robertson
Pride Live is free and open to the public, offering a welcoming space for celebration and education.
Drag Show and Tickets
As the evening winds down, the celebration heats up with the annual drag show, also hosted at the green space.
The show will feature four talented drag performers in a dazzling display of artistry and empowerment.
