Jeremy Gandon Returns to Wichita Open After First Korn Ferry Tour Victory

Jeremy Gandon, a Kansas State University graduate and former standout golfer, is back in Kansas to compete in the Wichita Open at Crestview Country Club—this time as a champion on the Korn Ferry Tour.

His return follows a breakthrough win at The Club Car Championship in Savannah, Georgia, marking a major milestone in his rising golf career.

From France to the Flint Hills

Originally from Charpey, France, Gandon made history as the first international player in K-State men’s golf history. He committed to the Wildcats without even visiting campus, relying solely on his instincts.

“I came in without a visit and I loved it,” Gandon recalled. “That drive from Kansas City to Manhattan was beautiful.”

His four years in Manhattan not only helped him develop as a golfer but also cemented his connection to the university and its community.

Climbing the Pro Golf Ladder

After graduation, Gandon’s journey through the professional ranks included stints on the PGA Americas Tour, Asian Tour, and a valiant attempt at PGA Q-School.

Falling just one shot short of securing full Korn Ferry Tour status, he initially gained conditional exemption into certain events.

Everything changed with his victory two months ago, securing full exemption on the tour and eliminating the stress of weekly qualifications.

“It was my first big win,” Gandon said. “Now I can focus on my game week by week, without worrying about getting into the next event.”

Still Bleeding Purple

Despite competing on an international stage, Gandon remains loyal to his alma mater.

“Oh yeah, K-State sports are all I care about now,” he said. “I had a hell of a good time there, and my golf game improved so much. That experience led me to where I am today.”

Wichita Open Tee Times

Gandon is scheduled to tee off Thursday at 7:40 a.m. from the 10th tee, and again Friday at 1:05 p.m. from the 1st tee.

Jeremy Gandon’s journey from K-State Wildcat to Korn Ferry Tour winner is a testament to perseverance, growth, and staying true to one’s roots.

His return to Kansas not only highlights his impressive development as a golfer but also showcases the deep ties athletes often keep with their collegiate communities.
