Kansas City Man Charged In Series Of Mid-Week Metro Bank Robberies

Kansas City man has been arrested and charged following a string of bank robberies across the Kansas City metro area earlier this week.

Authorities say the suspect, identified as Weston R. Womack, carried out four robberies in just two days — targeting banks in both Kansas City, Missouri, and Gladstone.

Suspect and Arrest Overview

According to investigators, Weston Womack, a Kansas City resident, was arrested on October 23, 2025, after a coordinated effort by federal and local law enforcement.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) confirmed Womack was a suspect in four separate robberies that took place on October 22 and 23.

Womack’s alleged crime spree included two robberies on Wednesday and two more on Thursday, with the same method used each time — entering banks dressed in dark clothing and passing a note to tellers demanding money.

The suspect wore a black hoodie, mask, and sunglasses, making identification difficult, but surveillance cameras captured consistent images linking all incidents.

The Arrest

Just minutes after the fourth robbery, police located the red Jeep believed to have been used in the crimes near East 39th Street and The Paseo. When officers attempted to block the vehicle, Womack reportedly tried to flee on foot.

He was quickly tackled and taken into custody by members of the Kansas City Police Department Tactical Unit.

Inside the Jeep, officers discovered a large amount of cash and the same black clothing seen in surveillance footage from each robbery. Womack was booked into custody and later transferred to federal authorities for processing.

Charges and Investigation

Womack faces multiple federal charges for bank robbery, as all four institutions involved are federally insured. Court documents indicate that he used notes containing phrases like “no tracker” and “give me bills only.”

Investigators describe the crimes as premeditated and repetitive, pointing to the consistency in timing, attire, and vehicle use. The case remains under federal review, and further charges could be filed as the investigation continues.

Why the Case Matters

The rapid succession of robberies highlights ongoing concerns about bank security and urban crime trends in the Kansas City area.

The FBI emphasized that federal agencies will continue to pursue swift action in similar cases to protect financial institutions and their employees.

The arrest of Weston Womack marks the end of a bold mid-week crime spree that shook Kansas City’s financial institutions.

Within just 48 hours, four banks were hit in broad daylight, prompting a swift federal investigation and coordinated law enforcement response.

The case serves as a reminder that federal and local agencies remain vigilant in protecting the community — ensuring that those who threaten public safety and financial security are brought to justice.
