A late-night hit-and-run early Monday has left one pedestrian fighting for their life, according to Kansas City police. Authorities are now working to track down the driver responsible for the crash.
Police Respond to Midnight Collision
Shortly after 12 a.m. Monday, officers were dispatched to the area of Northeast Vivion Road and North Lister Avenue following reports of a hit-and-run.
When police arrived, they found a severely injured pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle heading east on Vivion Road.
Details From Initial Investigation
According to the preliminary findings, an unidentified vehicle traveling eastbound hit a pedestrian who was either walking or standing in the roadway.
After the collision, the driver did not stop and fled the scene immediately.
Emergency responders transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where they remain in critical condition.
