Rob Stouffer, the owner of Precision Mazes, said the idea struck him as soon as he saw the engagement news flash on his phone.
Within hours, he reached out to Johnson Farms with a plan: carve a giant maze showing Swift and Kelce’s famous Instagram engagement photo, their jersey numbers (87 for Kelce and 13 for Swift), and the words “Kansas City is Enchanted.”
The process was no small task. It took Stouffer nine hours to cut through nine acres of corn. “I got one shot because once the corn is cut, you can’t put it back,” Stouffer explained. Luckily, the design turned out perfectly.
Why Johnson Farms Said Yes
For Jim Johnson, manager of Johnson Farms, the project was a simple decision. He explained that Swift and Kelce have brought “a lot of positive energy” to Kansas City, and this maze was a way to give back. “It’s a great story,” Johnson said. “Why wouldn’t you want to celebrate it?”
Johnson also hopes the maze brings happiness to visitors. “We’re telling stories out here,” he said. “This one is about love, and it’s fun to share.”
