Kansas Turnpike Authority Awards Contract for Emporia-Area Road Improvement Project

The Kansas Turnpike Authority (KTA) has officially awarded a construction contract for a significant infrastructure project near Emporia, Kansas.

The awarded Contract No. 8184 will focus on pavement patching and resurfacing along a stretch of the Kansas Turnpike (I-335/KTA).

Contract Details and Project Scope

The contract has been granted to Pearson Construction LLC, a Wichita-based company. The total value of the contract stands at $4,391,405.

The scope of the project spans from the Emporia Service Area to the Admire interchange, covering mile markers 132.2 to 147.8.

In addition to patching and surfacing the main roadway, the contract also includes paving work directly at the Admire interchange.

Timeline and Completion Goals

The project is expected to begin in fall 2025, starting with roadway patching. The surfacing phase will commence in the following year.

According to KTA, the full project is scheduled to be completed by October 30, 2026, contingent on weather conditions and scheduling.

The upcoming Kansas Turnpike project near Emporia marks a major step in improving transportation infrastructure and road safety in the region.

With over $4.3 million allocated and a clear timeline in place, motorists can expect a smoother and more reliable travel experience upon completion.
