At approximately 2:30 a.m., KCPD officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 7800 block of North Oak Trafficway.
Upon arrival, officers found several individuals attempting to assist an adult male who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
Despite medical efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries around 7:00 a.m. KCPD investigators believe the incident stemmed from a verbal dispute between the victim and the shooter, which escalated to gunfire.
