Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield was ruled out of Sunday night’s matchup against the Los Angeles Rams after suffering a left shoulder injury.
The setback occurred after he guided the Buccaneers to a late touchdown drive in the second quarter.
Injury Timeline And On-Field Events
Following the scoring drive, Mayfield entered the blue medical tent on Tampa Bay’s sideline. He was originally listed as questionable to return, but ultimately rejoined the game for the Buccaneers’ next offensive possession.
However, after attempting the final pass of the first half, Mayfield fell to the turf and appeared to be in considerable discomfort once again.
As the second half began, he was downgraded to doubtful, and later officially ruled out in the third quarter. Cameras later showed the quarterback on the sideline with his left arm supported in a sling.

Before leaving the game, Mayfield completed 9 of 19 passes for 41 yards, recording one touchdown and two interceptions.
Veteran quarterback Teddy Bridgewater stepped in to replace him for the remainder of the contest.
