Motorcyclist Fatally Injured in Overnight Roundabout Crash in Southwest Lawrence

A tragic motorcycle accident occurred early Wednesday morning in southwestern Lawrence, resulting in the death of a 44-year-old man.

Authorities have identified the deceased as David Craig Evans from Gallatin, Tennessee.

Crash Discovered by Passerby Around 1 A.M.

The incident took place at approximately 1:00 a.m. on Wednesday near the roundabout at Clinton Parkway and Lake Pointe Drive, just over a mile west of Wakarusa Drive.

A passerby discovered the motorcyclist lying on the south side of the traffic island and promptly contacted emergency services.

Police Investigation Suggests Speed Was a Factor

Officers from the Lawrence Police Department’s Accident Investigation Unit quickly responded to the scene. They spent the overnight hours thoroughly documenting the crash site and gathering evidence.
