Shortly after the championship game concluded, Oklahoma City Police responded to reports of gunfire on the west side of Scissortail Park, according to Sgt. Rob Robertson. Amid the dense crowds gathered to celebrate the win, one unidentified person was found suffering from a gunshot wound.
Several suspects reportedly fled the scene on foot, prompting a swift but controlled police response in a highly congested area.
Victim’s Condition and Police Response
The injured individual was quickly transported to a local hospital and is expected to make a full recovery, police confirmed. Robertson described the scene as “hectic” due to the high volume of people in the area celebrating the Thunder’s historic victory.
