Victims Identified in Fatal Reno County Crash

The Reno County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the identities of those involved in a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred on Saturday morning in Reno County.

The collision took place shortly after 10 a.m., about half a mile north of U.S. Highway 50 on Kansas Highway 14.

How the Accident Happened?

According to investigators, a southbound Chevy Malibu crossed over the center line and collided head-on with a northbound Jeep Liberty. The force of the impact caused severe injuries to those involved.

Victims and Medical Response

The driver of the Jeep, 59-year-old Adam Arevalo of Hutchinson,
was initially airlifted toward Wichita by Eagle Med. During transport, the flight was diverted to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.

The driver of the Chevy Malibu, 27-year-old Cecil Chandler IV of Hutchinson, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in the Chevy was transported to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center and later transferred to a Wichita hospital in serious condition.

Investigation Ongoing

The Reno County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the cause of the crash is still under investigation, and no further details have been released at this time.

This tragic Reno County crash claimed two lives and left another person seriously injured, highlighting the devastating consequences of head-on collisions.
