WICHITA, Kansas — A tragic and disturbing case has emerged as former St. Louis TV anchor Angie Mock, aged 47, has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the stabbing death of her 80-year-old mother, Anita Avers, on Friday.
According to Sedgwick County Jail records, Mock, whose legal name is Angelynn Elizabeth Mock, was booked shortly after authorities responded to an emergency call from the 1500 block of East Crowley Street early Friday morning.

The Wichita Police Department reported that officers arrived at approximately 8 a.m. following reports of a stabbing.
Upon arrival, they discovered Mock outside the residence, while her mother was found inside, in bed, suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Emergency responders transported Avers to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
