Kansas City Man Faces Two Murder Charges After Deadly Midtown Shooting

A Kansas City man is facing multiple charges after a deadly double shooting in Midtown earlier this year left two people dead.

Jackson County Prosecutor Melesa Johnson announced Monday that 30-year-old Olufemi Siffre has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the Feb. 10, 2026 shooting.

The victims were identified as 26-year-old Brittnee McMillon and 29-year-old Jerrell Westmoreland. Both were found dead after police responded to a shooting call near 35th Street and The Paseo.

Suspect Charged In Double Homicide

According to prosecutors, Siffre is accused of killing McMillon and Westmoreland during a shooting in Midtown Kansas City. In addition to the two first-degree murder charges, he also faces several other felony counts.

Those charges include three counts of armed criminal action, one count of unlawful use of a weapon, one count of unlawful possession of a firearm and one count of tampering with physical evidence in a felony prosecution.

Authorities say the charges stem from evidence gathered during the investigation into the February shooting.

What Court Documents Say Happened

Court documents say surveillance footage showed a vehicle pulling up next to the victims’ vehicle near 35th Street and The Paseo.

Prosecutors allege that Siffre stood near the driver’s window of the victims’ car and spoke with the people inside for several minutes. After that conversation, he allegedly fired numerous shots before leaving the scene.

Police later found the two victims dead inside the vehicle after responding to the shooting call.

Phone Records Part Of Investigation

Investigators also reviewed the cellphone of one of the victims. According to court documents, detectives found messages between Siffre and Westmoreland.

The messages and phone calls reportedly took place the day before the shooting and again in the minutes leading up to the deadly incident.

Authorities have not publicly released a full motive, but prosecutors say the communications were part of the evidence used in the case.

Victims Identified By Authorities

The two people killed in the shooting were identified as Brittnee McMillon, 26, and Jerrell Westmoreland, 29.

Their deaths added to ongoing concerns about gun violence in Kansas City, particularly after another deadly incident left families and community members searching for answers.

The case is now moving through the criminal justice system as prosecutors pursue the murder charges.

Legal Process Continues

Siffre has been charged, but the case has not yet been resolved in court. As with all criminal cases, the charges are allegations, and the accused is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

Prosecutors are expected to rely on surveillance footage, phone records and other evidence as the case proceeds.

Olufemi Siffre, 30, is facing two counts of first-degree murder and several additional charges after a deadly Midtown Kansas City shooting on Feb. 10, 2026.
