The victim was later identified as James Dodds, a 64-year-old man from Kansas City, Kansas. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition after the shooting.

Dodds died on Monday from his injuries, turning the investigation into a homicide case.

Three Suspects Charged

The case involving teens charged in fatal shooting moved forward this week when three 18-year-old suspects were charged in Wyandotte County.

The suspects were identified as Aaron Johnson, Mark Elliott Nash Jr., and Marquel McGee. All three are from Kansas City, Kansas.

Each suspect was charged Tuesday with first-degree murder in connection with Dodds’ death. Authorities have not released further details about what may have led to the shooting.

Arrests Made Far From The Metro Area

Police said the three suspects were arrested in Newton, Kansas. Newton is about 170 miles southwest of the metro area.
