Emporia State Volleyball Reaches No. 12 Ahead of Home Stretch

Emporia State volleyball moved to No. 12 in the October 26 AVCA-Taraflex Division II women’s poll, giving the Hornets another step upward in the national rankings as the regular season approaches its final stretch.

The AVCA’s published poll table lists Emporia State at 21–3 with 618 points, up from No. 13 the previous week. The table provides a direct source for the ranking, record and voting points.

What the latest volleyball poll shows

Emporia State national rank No. 12
Previous rank No. 13
Record in poll table 21–3
Voting points 618
Next AVCA poll November 2, 2026

Ferris State remains at No. 1 in the same Division II table. The conference’s presence near Emporia State is also notable: Missouri Western is No. 10, Washburn No. 16 and Central Oklahoma No. 23.

These are positions in a coaches’ poll. They should be kept separate from NCAA selection measures and regional listings, which answer different questions about a team’s season.

The Hornets have climbed across several weekly polls

The latest move continues a documented progression. An AVCA release on September 7 listed Emporia State among the new teams entering the poll at No. 25.

The association’s September 14 update recorded a climb to No. 18. Its October 19 report then placed ESU at No. 13 after a win over Nebraska Kearney.

That sequence supplies context for a one-place rise this week. The October 26 position is part of a wider movement through the rankings, rather than an isolated appearance near the edge of the top 25.

Home matches become the immediate focus

KVOE’s October 26 update reported that Emporia State was beginning a four-match home stretch, starting with Central Oklahoma on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

The university maintains the official 2026 volleyball schedule, where fans can check dates, match information and any changes before attending or following remotely.

With Central Oklahoma also appearing in the AVCA top 25, the scheduled opening match gives local supporters a clear reason to follow the home stretch. The ranking adds context, while the match itself will determine the result.

What No. 12 means for supporters

A national poll is a useful snapshot of how a team is viewed at a particular point in the season. It is not a postseason bracket, an automatic qualification announcement or a prediction that every remaining opponent will be beaten.

Readers comparing weekly updates should note both the poll date and the organization producing the numbers. That avoids treating a change in an NCAA index as if it were the same change in the AVCA coaches’ table.

The next scheduled AVCA poll is November 2. Until then, Emporia State’s confirmed October 26 position is No. 12, with the final regular-season home matches offering the next developments to watch.
