Man Dies After Shooting Outside Home Following Late-Night Incident

A man has died after a shooting outside a home in Kansas City, Missouri, during the early hours of Sunday morning, according to police.

Officers with the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department said they were called to the area of Belmont Avenue and Longview Road shortly before 1 a.m. after receiving reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds while sitting inside a vehicle outside a residence. Emergency medical crews responded and transported him to a hospital for treatment.

Police later confirmed that the man died from his injuries.

Victim Found Wounded In Vehicle

According to investigators, the victim was discovered outside the home after the shooting had already taken place.

Authorities have not yet released the victim’s name, pending official identification and notification of family members. Police also have not publicly shared the victim’s age or details about the injuries he suffered.

The area was secured as officers began collecting evidence and speaking with people who may have been nearby at the time of the shooting.

Incident Reportedly Began Inside Home

Detectives said their early investigation suggests the victim had been inside the home with other people before the shooting happened.

Police said one person has been taken into custody for further questioning in connection with the case.
