A man has died after an argument inside a home escalated into a shooting early Sunday morning, according to police.

The Kansas City Police Department said officers were called to the 11500 block of Belmont Avenue shortly before 1 a.m. on Sunday, June 21, after receiving reports of gunfire.

When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive man inside a vehicle parked in front of a residence. Police began providing aid until emergency medical crews arrived and took over treatment.

The victim was transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police Find Victim Inside Vehicle

Authorities said the man was found inside a vehicle outside the home where the incident began.

Police have not yet released the victim’s name, age, or other identifying details. Officials are expected to provide that information after family members have been notified.
