One person is dead and another person is in custody after an early-morning shooting in Kansas City, Missouri, according to police.
Officers with the Kansas City Police Department responded after reports of a shooting and found the victim unresponsive inside a vehicle parked in front of a house. Police said the man had suffered life-threatening injuries.
Emergency medical crews transported the victim to a hospital, but he was declared deceased shortly after arriving.
Authorities have not yet released the victim’s name.
Victim Found Inside Vehicle
According to police, officers arrived at the scene and found the victim inside a car outside a residence.
Police began investigating the area around the home while emergency crews worked to provide medical aid. The victim was taken from the scene to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Officials have not released the victim’s age or additional identifying details. That information is expected to be shared after family members are notified.
Argument Reportedly Started Inside Home
Preliminary findings suggest the shooting followed an argument inside the house.
Police said the victim had been arguing with one or more people before leaving the residence and getting into a vehicle parked in front of the home. Investigators said the victim was then shot while inside the car.
