Police Identify Two Victims Killed In Late-Night Shooting

Police have identified two young people who were killed in a late-night shooting over the weekend.

The victims were named Sunday as 18-year-old Dillion Boykin and 16-year-old Brandon Henderson. Both died after being wounded in a shooting reported Saturday night in Kansas City.

Authorities said officers were called at about 10:30 p.m. to the area of Old Santa Fe Road near 93rd Street after receiving reports of gunfire.

When officers arrived, they found Boykin in a parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital for emergency treatment, but later died from his injuries.

Police said Henderson was taken separately to a hospital after the shooting. He also later died.

No Clear Motive Released

Investigators said there is no preliminary evidence yet showing what led to the shooting.

The lack of early details has made community assistance an important part of the investigation. Police are asking anyone who saw or heard anything in the area Saturday night to come forward.

Even small pieces of information, such as suspicious vehicles, people leaving the scene, or activity before the shooting, could help detectives build a clearer timeline.

Police have not released additional information about the victims’ backgrounds or whether they knew each other.

Authorities are expected to continue reviewing evidence, speaking with witnesses and gathering information from the area where the shooting occurred.
