Two 13-year-old boys who were reported missing and endangered after disappearing on Sunday evening have been located safely, according to an update from police.
The Olathe Police Department previously requested public assistance in finding Elias Daugherty and Vladimir Dumler. Both teenagers were last seen walking near the 400 block of South Rogers Road in Olathe, Kansas.
Authorities classified the boys as endangered because of their young ages, prompting a public appeal and search efforts across the surrounding area.
Boys Last Seen Sunday Evening
Police said Elias and Vladimir were last observed at approximately 5:40 p.m. on Sunday, June 21, 2026.
They were reportedly seen south of East Santa Fe Street near South Rogers Road. Authorities did not disclose where the boys were heading or explain the circumstances surrounding their disappearance.
The police department issued descriptions and photographs of both teenagers to help residents identify them.
Officials also asked anyone living or working near the area to review available surveillance or doorbell-camera footage that may have captured the boys walking through the neighbourhood.
Police Released Descriptions
Elias was described as approximately 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighing around 160 pounds. He has short black hair and brown eyes.
When last seen, Elias was believed to be wearing a yellow shirt, dark-coloured bottoms and a black TLC bracelet.
Vladimir was described as approximately 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighing about 190 pounds. He also has short black hair and brown eyes.
Police believed Vladimir was wearing a dark-coloured top and matching dark bottoms. He was also reportedly wearing a black TLC bracelet.
The matching bracelets were included in the appeal as potentially helpful identifying details.
Teenagers Located Safely
On Monday morning, police confirmed that both teenagers had been found and were safe. The update ended the public request for assistance in locating them.
Authorities did not disclose where the boys were found, how long they had been at that location or whether anyone else was with them.
Police also did not release information about why the teenagers left or whether they required medical attention after being located.
Such details are frequently withheld in missing-child cases to protect the privacy of the young people and their families.
No criminal activity was mentioned in the police update, and authorities did not announce any arrests connected to the incident.
Community Assistance Supported Search
Before the boys were located, police encouraged anyone with information to contact the Olathe Police Department at 913-971-6363. Anonymous information could also be submitted through the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.
Public appeals can help investigators quickly distribute photographs, clothing descriptions and last-known locations when children go missing.
However, now that Elias and Vladimir have been found, residents should avoid continuing to circulate outdated missing-person notices without clearly noting the safe recovery. Removing or updating older social media posts can prevent confusion and allow attention to remain focused on active cases.
Elias Daugherty and Vladimir Dumler were found safe after being reported missing and endangered on Sunday evening. Police have not released details about where they were located or why they disappeared.
The successful outcome brought the search to an end after authorities and community members shared information about the two teenagers.
